Slovakia to introduce Intrastat system for trade statistics

AFTER Slovakia enters the EU, a new system for collecting statistical data on the trade of goods with EU member countries will be introduced.

Slovakia's Customs Directorate will access information on the monthly trade of goods on the EU market through the new system called Intrastat-SK, the Slovak Statistics Office told the news wire SITA.

Those who report to the Intrasat-SK system will be registered payers of value added tax in Slovakia that, for the previous year or from the beginning of the monitored year, dispatched or received goods on the EU market at a value that met or surpassed the set assimilation threshold.
