Schuster congratulates Mečiar

CURRENT President Rudolf Schuster sent an official letter of congratulations on April 6 to three-time ex-PM Vladimír Mečiar, who won the first round of the presidential elections on April 3.

In the letter Schuster wrote that he hoped Mečiar would act honestly, correctly, and respectfully in the two weeks leading up to the second round of the elections to be held on April 17.

Schuster wrote in the letter that he was not surprised by Mečiar's easy victory in the first round, presidential spokesman Ján Füle told the private news agency SITA.
