Official to oversee road safety

SLOVAKIA may soon have a single official to oversee safety on the roads.

The Transport Ministry wants to propose the creation of a special plenipotentiary post to ensure the greater coordination of security measures on Slovak roads, the state run agency TASR wrote on April 5.

According to Transport Ministry spokesman Tomáš Šarluška, road safety issues are currently split between the Transport Ministry and the Interior Ministry.
