THE EUROPEAN Commission (EC) has approved a list of firms that will be temporarily exempt from complying with the EU's food safety standards.
The state-run news agency TASR wrote on April 16 that a total of 12 firms in Slovakia received transition periods from the EC.
The 12 companies consist of 10 meat-processing firms, a dairy firm, and a fish-processing company.
