Ice hockey: Slovakia in semifinals

THE SLOVAK ice-hockey team will play on May 8 against last year's world champion, Canada, in the semifinals of the 2004 World Championships in Prague.

The Slovaks advanced to the semifinals after beating the Swiss team 3:1 on May 6.

On May 8 the US team, who beat the hosting Czech Republic, will meet Sweden to determine Sunday's finals.
