IT plenipotentiary coming

THE CABINET's council for an information society adopted a statute and decided on personnel and organisational provisions for the new cabinet appointee responsible for encouraging an information society in Slovakia.

Starting work this year, the new plenipotentiary will at first operate under the Telecom Ministry but will later have an independent office will, the private news agency SITA wrote.

According to a review published recently by the World Economic Forum, Slovakia lags behind in the building of an information society.
