Russian diplomat asked to leave

THE SLOVAK Republic has asked a Russian diplomat to leave the country, the Slovak daily Hospodárske noviny wrote.

According to Juraj Tomaga, the spokesman of the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry, the person was found carrying out activities that were "incompatible with the statutes governing diplomatic personnel".

Sources familiar with the case told Hospodárske noviny that the diplomat was suspected of espionage for Russian security units.
