MUSEUM of Sigmund Freud, an exhibition featuring a photo collection by Gerald Zugmann and sculptures by Franz West and Michaela Spiegel, recently opened at the building of the Kooperativa insurance company at Main Square 5 (second floor). Zugmann's photos document the changes time has brought to the house where psychoanalytic theory originated. The exhibition runs (Mon-Fri 10:00-18:00, Sat 10:00-13:00) until July 31. Admission: Sk15. CENTRAL SLOVAKIA


NEW candidates competing to participate in the popular Porta and Lodenica summer festivals of folk/country music and fun will gather in Ružomberok on May 22. Over 20 of them will perform local folk influenced by American country music from the early morning, starting at 9:00. An hour later, dancers will come to join the musicians and all will compete until 18:00, with free entertainment following. The open-air event takes place at the Country Ranch, in Ružomberok's district of Černov. Admission is free. Tel: 044/4332-827.
