Parliament elects head special prosecutor

DUŠAN Kováčik was elected the head of the Special Attorney Office, which will open in September to deal with complicated corruption, organised crime, and cases with political ties.

The Slovak daily Pravda wrote that Kováčik, 42, was elected by a convincing majority of 118 of the present 138 MPs in a secret ballot held on May 12.
