Kappa posts Sk237.5 million after tax profit

THE PULP and paper mill group Kappa Štúrovo reported consolidated sales of Sk4.1 billion (€102 million) in 2003. Its consolidated gross profit reached Sk299.1 million (€7.4 million), and the consolidated profit after tax exceeded Sk237.5 million (€5.9 million), the private news agency SITA wrote.

The pulp and paper mill became part of the Dutch concern Kappa Packaging in May 2001 when it was taken over from the Swedish company AssiDoman.

Kappa Packaging is comprised of over 110 companies in 16 European countries.

The concern produces 3.1 million tonnes of paper and cardboard annually and is the second largest producer of cardboard in Europe. Its annual sales exceed €3.2 billion.
