THE NEW British Ambassador to Slovakia, Judith Macgregor, presented her credentials to Slovak President Rudolf Schuster on June 3.
Macgregor, a career diplomat, is the former head of the Commission for the Selection of Public Servants at the British Foreign Office. Her previous diplomatic postings abroad were in Belgrade, Prague, and Paris, the news wire TASR wrote.
Britain has not had any negative experience with Slovak citizens willing to work in Britain, the ambassador announced, adding that, "People willing to work in Britain, who speak English and are qualified, have opportunities in our country. This applies to all, including the Roma."
The previous ambassador to Bratislava, Roderic Todd, ended his mission in April. Just like her predecessor, Macgregor answered the questions of the media in Slovak, which she has been learning since January. Macgregor's husband John is the British Ambassador to Austria.
