THE FIRST quarter of 2004 saw 2,969 apartments built, an annual increase of 730 apartments, the Slovak economic daily Hospodárske noviny wrote.
The construction of another 3,929 apartments began during that period, and the number of construction permits issued by authorities almost doubled.
According to Silvia Vargová, the spokeswoman of the Slovak Construction Ministry, the largest number of flats was completed in the Bratislava region, followed by the Trenčín region.
