Army goals approved

THE CABINET approved a draft plan of the goals of the Slovak Armed Forces for the period between 2004 and 2010, stipulating that Slovakia will provide a mechanised battalion, chemical unit, military engineers, and a military police unit for NATO military operations.

The SME daily wrote that the army is therefore demanding Sk8 billion (€200 million) in additional funds during the planned period.
