Pensions up by 3.4 percent in December

FOLLOWING a 4 percent increase in old-age pensions in February 2004 and the payment of a one-time benefit of Sk1,000 (€25) in August, pensioners may receive another pension hike in December.

The Labour Ministry submitted a proposal that foresees the valorisation of pensions by 3.4 percent in December, the private news agency SITA wrote.

With the December increase, pensions will see an annual growth of 7.54 percent, up Sk490 (€12) on average.
