Samuel and Martin favourite names

THE MOST frequently used first name last year in Slovakia was Samuel.

A total of 1,128 baby boys were named Samuel in 2003, the private news agency SITA wrote.

The second most favourite name is Martin, given to 1,021 baby boys.

Viktória was the most popular baby girl's name with 938 babies registered under that name. In 2003 there were also 913 baby boys named Jakub.

Among the top 10 were Patrik with 883 entries, Tomáš (868), Kristína (840), Natália (816), Adam (736), and Peter (706).
