One tenth of all elementary and kindergarten schools will be closed

ONE out of every ten elementary and kindergarten schools in Slovakia will be closed as of September this year. This amounts to 216 elementary schools and 243 kindergartens.

They will partially be replaced by private schools. The Education ministry already has 87 applications for establishing new private schools and kindergartens. About 20 new private elementary schools and 21 kindergartens are expected to open this September.
