Fico most trusted Slovak politician

ROBERT Fico, chairman of the opposition party Smer, remains Slovakia's most trusted politician with 22.6 percent support, a poll carried out by the Statistical Office showed.

President Ivan Gašparovič ranked second with 14.5 percent, followed by the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia chairman and three-time ex-PM Vladimír Mečiar with 14.1 percent, the Pravda daily wrote.

Béla Bugá, the head of the Hungarian Coalition Party was next with 8.6 percent, followed by Justice Minister Daniel Lipšic with 5.6 percent and PM Mikuláš Dzurinda with 5.1 percent.
