Tire-maker Matador expands to UK

THE SLOVAK tire manufacturer Matador Púchov has established a new company in Great Britain to develop its market directly in the UK.

Matador has a similar operation in Germany where Matador Deutschland manages its business development.

Matador spokesman Pavol Hanzel told the SITA news agency that Matador UK would handle trade-technical and marketing operations, including complex servicing.

Matador sees potential in the British market. The firm's exports to the UK represent 23 percent of Matador's total exports. Matador's market share was 1.9 percent in the UK last year, where the company sold products worth more than Sk500 million (€12.4 million).
