Žilina orchestra starts new concert season

THE STATE Chamber Orchestra in the norther Slovak town of Žilina will open its 31st season with a concert performed by Japanese artists on September 16.
Tomoko Asahina will accompany soprano singer Yu Akaine on piano under the baton of Tsugio Maeda, the honorary chief conductor of the Žilina orchestra.

Tomoko Asahina will accompany soprano singer Yu Akaine on piano under the baton of Tsugio Maeda, the honorary chief conductor of the Žilina orchestra. The evening programme will consist mainly of opera arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The following concert on September 23 will open the chamber cycle. In cooperation with the Jewish Community it will deliver a concert by Bratislava's Preßburger Klezmer Band.

Tickets to Žilina State Chamber Orchestra concerts are on sale at Dolný Val 47, from 7:00 to 19:00 (tel: 041/5620-979), and an hour before the performance at the foyer of the Fatra House of Arts.
