ANO caucus expands

THE RULING New Citizen's Alliance (ANO) caucus has been strengthened to 12 MPs after the former opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) politician Jozef Elsner joined the club on September 14.

ANO suffered several departures of MPs since the start of the current election term in autumn 2004. Originally the caucus had 15 MPs.

After leaving HZDS, Elsner acted as an independent MP.
