Reader feedback: Competent providers

Re: Slovak Hospitals: A Personal Experience, By Owen V Johnson, Sep 13 - 19, Vol 10, No 35

The experiences of Mr. Johnson are noteworthy, especially the "update" on food and basic personal effects which should be part of modern hospital services. But make no mistake, while I was in Slovakia from January to April of this year, I spoke on several occasions to medical and nursing staff from Trnava to Zvolen to Zilina, and they are truly competent providers. I was awed by their professionalism, their skills. I know what I am saying because I am a retired physician living in California. And yes, I am planning on returning to that great country where I now have so many caring and lovely friends.
