Ambassador to Hungary to take post

DESIGNATED Slovak Ambassador to Hungary Juraj Migaš should receive his credentials at the beginning of October, and subsequently take up a post that has been vacant for two years, the news agency SITA reported.

His priorities include intensifying the work of the Slovak-Hungarian joint commissions that was set up based on the basic treaty between both countries.

It will be 10 years next year since the the basic treaty was ratified between the two countries. In certain areas, however, the joint commissions worked only minimally, or never met at all.

Migaš wants to pursue better support for the Slovak minority in Hungary.
