Bank robber takes Sk170,000

A masked and armed robber stole Sk170,000 (€4,250) from the HVB Bank in Trnava October 11. It was the 20th bank robbery in Slovakia this year.

The man was described as about 25 years old, wearing a grey sports jacket, blue jeans, a baseball cap and sunglasses.

According to Interior Minister Vladimír Palko, the number of bank robberies in Slovakia is not alarming. In Austria, 82 banks have already been robbed this year. In Germany, 1,000 banks are robbed annually, and in Italy this number rises to about 2,500.
