GORAN Bregović and his 45-piece Wedding And Funeral Band, bring the Balkan temperament to Bratislava's Incheba Hall on October 20. Bregović, a son of Sarajevo, is renowned for his ethno and world music, which provided the soundtrack for Emir Kusturica's films Underground and White Cat, Black Cat. The concert, in which Bregović will showcase some of his famous film pieces, starts at 20:00. Incheba Hall is located at Viedenská cesta 3-7, and tickets cost Sk499, Sk699 and Sk999. EXHIBITION: Italy: How We Lived, How We Live - Photographer Igor Grossmann puts on an exhibtion of works taken in Italy; the black-and-whites date back to 1969, the colour ones are from the 1990s.

WESTERN SLOVAKIA


ARTE A CONFRONTO - contemporary Italian visual arts displayed at the Merum Gallery in Modra. Works on show include landscapes, portraits and colourful abstract paintings. Exhibition commissioners Ľuboslav Moza and Valerio Grimaldi have compiled a collection of 15 Italian artists, including Allan Boccatonda, Umberto Esposti, Guiseppe Stefani, Anny Wernert and Lucia Cecchi. These are all members of the Centro d'Arte e Cultura La Tavolozza, an association that works closely with Slovak artists. The exhibition is open daily from 14:00 to 17:00, until November 3.
