The American multi-media performer will open the Evenings of New Music international festival in Bratislava. Her performances are a combination of music, movement, light and sound.
Although she has been part of the music scene for almost 40 years, this is the talented performer's first visit to Bratislava.
She is famous for, among other things, the music in Jean-Luc Godard's film La Nouvelle Vague, and the Coen brothers hit, The Big Lebowski. She won the German Critics Prize in 1981 and 1986 for the albums Dolmen Music and Our Lady of Late: The Vanguard Tapes.
In Bratislava, Monk will perform with Theo Bleckmann, a jazz and contemporary music singer and composer. The show starts at 20:00 on October 25 at the Astorka Korzo theatre, Námestie SNP 33. Tickets cost Sk300. For more information visit www.vecery.info.
