Highway firm given green light

THE SLOVAK parliament gave the go-ahead for the establishment of Diaľničná spoločnosť, the highway company, to secure the development, administration, maintenance, and repairs of roads and motorways.

The new company will also collect the fees, and later tolls, for the use of highways, the SITA news agency wrote. It will start operating in 2005.
