Slovnaft surrenders to audit

THE FINANCE Ministry has initiated a price audit of Slovnaft based on a request by the local antitrust authority, the SITA news agency wrote.

The Ministry, which starts auditing the oil refinery today, will also inspect a possible violation of price regulations and a misuse of its dominant market position. The audit follows a motion filed by road haulier association, ČESMAD, against Slovnaft.

Slovnaft rejects all allegations of impropriety and argues that its price policies reflect the volatile global oil market.
