Slovnaft surrenders to audit

THE FINANCE Ministry has initiated a price audit of Slovnaft based on a request by the local antitrust authority, the SITA news agency wrote.

The Ministry, which started auditing the oil refinery in November, will also inspect a possible violation of price regulations and a misuse of its dominant market position. The audit follows a motion filed by road haulier association ČESMAD against Slovnaft.

Slovnaft rejects all allegations of impropriety and argues that its price policies reflect the volatile global oil market.

"Do ľava," (to the left) I yelled, "Nie, do prava" (no, to the right), I gasped. "Dolšie," I screamed. "Nie, nie, horšie..." My Slovak girlfriend collapsed in laughter. Was it something I said?
