Slovak elected deputy chairman of NATO assembly

JOZEF Banáš was elected the new deputy chairman of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) November 16.

Banáš, who recently joined the ruling Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ), beat off competition from Romanian MP Mihai Lupoi, wrote the daily SME.

The new chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly is Pierre Lelluche, who will replace Douglas Bereuter.
