Mafia attack

BRATISLAVA yesterday witnessed the attempted murder of a known mobster. The targeted mafia boss Ivo Ružič is now fighting for his life in hospital, wrote the Pravda daily.

The explosion in the Jadran restaurant, in Bratislava’s Ružinov district, also injured his unnamed companion.

Shortly after noon yesterday the blast shook the restaurant, tearing down one wall completely. The resulting pressure wave broke windows in the school building next door and in cars parked outside.

Bratislava police chief Ľudovít Miháľ confirmed that an explosive charge was planted inside the restaurant but would not reveal any further details.
