CHILDREN of Black Magic is an exhibition of puppets and masks from Africa from the private Darkowsky collection. Mr and Mrs Darkowsky collected cult fetishes, amulets, masks and toys from Congo, Mali, Nigeria and Togo during the 1980s and 1990s. Some of them have a mysterious beauty while others send a shudder down your spine. All the showcased pieces are originals, some of them having been given to the couple by the artists themselves. The exhibition, which is for adults as well as children, is at Bibiana, the International House of Arts for Children at Panská 4. It is open daily except Mondays between 10:00 and 18:00 until January 30. Tickets cost Sk10. For more information call 02/5443-4986.

LITHOGRAPH'S Autumn is an exhibition of 24 graphic works and 12 paintings by Vladimír Gažovič, one of the leading representatives of contemporary European graphic art. As one of a few, he uses the complicated method of colour lithography, also used by Goya, Munch, Picasso, Dalí, and Chagall. But his pieces are not only an exhibition of the form and technique. Their quality and suggestiveness come from their disturbing content, which depict the metamorphoses of human beings. The exhibition is open daily between 14:00 and 17:00 until January 2005 at the Merum Gallery at Štúrova 108, Modra. Admission is free. Tel: 02/5478-9416.
