Calls for referendum grow

INCREASINGLY more Slovaks are calling for a referendum on the European constitution, according to the results of a new survey.

Support for the popular vote rose from 30 percent in June 2004, to over 42 percent in October.

The survey also showed that 63 percent of people would take part in the referendum, of which 78.5 percent would vote in favour of the constitution, according to the daily SME.
