Nine Slovaks die on Czech roads

NINE people died on Czech roads in two separate car crashes December 13.

A bus travelling from Prague to Košice was involved in a crash with a lorry. Six people died on the spot, including a pregnant young woman. The accident occurred after midnight.

At around 8am, another three people died in a car accident near the town of Nový Jičín, wrote the daily SME.

Why the lorry and bus collided is still unclear. It appears the bus was pulling out from a service area near Brno when the accident happened. Five other people were injured, though four of them were released from the hospital the same day.

The Slovak General Consul in Brno said the bus passengers were from Central Slovakia.
