More spy files out soon

THE NATIONAL Memory Institute (ÚPN) will publish another bulk of former communist secret service ŠtB files at the end of January, wrote the Pravda daily.

The files to be published are from the ŠtB's Central Slovak section. At the end of last year the ÚPN already published the eastern Slovak section files, which recently resulted in the resignation of Deputy Construction Minister Ján Hurný, who was listed in the documents as an ŠtB agent.

The western Slovak ŠtB section files should be published in April or May 2005 at the latest, ÚPN spokesman Michal Dzurjanin told the daily.
