Gašparovič congratulates Palestinian president-elect

SLOVAK President Ivan Gašparovič sent a telegram congratulating Palestinian president-elect Mahmoud Abbas, according to the TASR news agency.

In his name and the name of all Slovaks, Gašparovič congratulated Abbas on his victory in the presidential election on January 9.

Gašparovič hopes that mutual Slovak-Palestinian relations will be based on trust and understanding. He added that Slovakia would continue to help the Palestinian nation.
