Congratulations to Slovakia! Hantuchová was awesome, Hrbatý simply on fire! Hrbatý even apologized to Coria [Guillermo Coria of Argentina, Slovakia's opponents in the final] after the match for being so pumped saying, "I'm sorry but I was playing for my country!"

In a nice touch Hrbatý invited all the Slovak fans in the crowd onto the court to have a photo taken after the final. When Hrbatý said that sometimes a small nation of five million could be great, the Australian commentators remarked that they thought there was at least twice that many considering their tennis pedigree. Go Slovakia!
