New deputy ministers announced

SLOVAKIA's Ambassador to Poland, Magda Vášáryová, will be the new Deputy Foreign Minister, the ruling Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) announced.

Vášáryová will replace Ivan Korčok, who will be leaving to take up the post of Ambassador to Germany. The SDKÚ also nominated Štefan Kužma to be the new deputy construction minister to replace Ján Hurný, also of the SDKÚ, who stepped down after his name appeared in the published files of the communist secret service, the ŠtB.

Based on the 2002 coalition agreement, the SDKÚ is entitled to nominate its people to these posts, reported the SITA news agency.
