Fico most-trusted politician

THE CHAIRMAN of the opposition party Smer, Robert Fico, remains the most trusted politician in Slovakia, according to an early January public opinion poll conducted by the Statistical Office, reports the SITA news agency.

Fico is trusted by 26 percent of Slovak citizens. President Ivan Gašparovič is second with 14.4 percent, and Vladimír Mečiar, the chairman of the opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia is third, with 12.4 percent trust.
