Plháková rejoins SDKÚ caucus

ZUZANA Plháková rejoined the MP parliamentary caucus of the ruling Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) February 1. She left in December 2003.

"It is not a surprising decision. I never ceased being a member of the SDKÚ. I have always supported its programme and the government's programme for this term, " Plháková told the SITA news agency.

Plháková left the SDKÚ caucus along with several other SDKÚ MPs who supported the party's dismissed defence minister, Ivan Šimko.

The relationship between Šimko and Prime Minister and SDKÚ leader Mikuláš Dzurinda deteriorated over Šimko's unwillingness to support the removal from office of National Security Office chief, Ján Mojžiš.
