Orange Slovensko posts record profit

MOBILE operator Orange Slovensko posted a record profit of Sk8.7 billion (€220 million) last year, which represented an annual growth of more than 25 percent.

Orange had 2.36 million customers from whom the company took in Sk18.7 billion (€483 million). The total revenues have grown by one fifth year-on-year to Sk19.2 billion (€496 million), the Pravda daily wrote.

According to the company's estimates, its market share reached 38.5 percent.

Its competitors on the telecommunications market, fixed-line operator Slovak Telecom and mobile operator EuroTel, achieved market shares of 34.1 and 26.9 percent respectively.
