Jasná will host an open space skiing competition on February 25 and 26. This event, known as Jasná Adrenalin, is part of the prestigious Red Bull Snow Thrill circuit. The two of us recently skied Jasná and enjoyed packed powder conditions. The resort is lively at the moment due to school holidays in Central Europe, but new lifts have reduced lines to less than 10 minutes.
Plejsy (near Krompachy) will feature a giant slalom event called the Becherovka Ski Show, which is open to all registrants. The resort will also feature a ski acrobatic show.
With all the new snow, we encourage readers to try some of Slovakia's small resorts. John recently skied Biele Vody near Hriňová and found 75 cms of great powder. Biele Vody, http://www.bielevody.sk/, has a 200 metre vertical and two poma lifts. Lift tickets are Sk250.

"Do ľava," (to the left) I yelled, "Nie, do prava" (no, to the right), I gasped. "Dolšie," I screamed. "Nie, nie, horšie..." My Slovak girlfriend collapsed in laughter. Was it something I said?
