Laura Bush to participate in opening US information centre

FIRST Lady Laura Bush will take part in the official opening of a new American information and cultural centre at Bratislava university on February 24, the US Embassy in Bratislava reported.

The centre, called InfoUSA, is located in the University Library.

Representing the Slovak side at this ceremony will be the Slovak Minister of Culture Rudolf Chmel, and the General Director of the University Library, Tibor Trgiňa.

The mission of the centre will be to promote mutual understanding between the United States and Slovakia by providing information about the US.

The centre will serve as a focal point for American cultural and information programmes.

InfoUSA Bratislava will be open to the general public in April, from the time of the opening of the renovated University Library.
