Leasing market up 4 percent in 2004

LEASING companies united in the Slovak leasing association (ALS) financed Sk46.3 billion (€1.2 billion) worth of movable and fixed assets in 2004, excluding VAT.

The figure represents a 4 percent growth year-on-year.

CAC Leasing Slovakia remained the market leader, financing Sk8.6 billion (€226 million) worth of assets, followed by ČSOB Leasing with 7.4 billion (€194 million) and VB Leasing SK with 5.8 billion (€152 million).

In total the ALS members concluded 66,497 contracts, the TASR news agency wrote. The movable assets category accounted for Sk44.8 billion (€1.17 billion) in leased assets, with passenger cars dominating the field. Leasing financed the purchase of 43,774 passenger cars, worth Sk18.7 billion (€491 million) last year.
