Senior policemen sacked

INTERIOR Minister Vladimír Palko recalled seven senior police officers for shortcomings in their work.

Deputy Police Chief Jaroslav Spišiak requested the recall.

The minister told journalists March 1 that the officers were not able to work under the new police structure.

The Police Corps Presidium officers, including National Anti-drug Unit Director Milan Pudelka, Financial Police Chief Ivan Dorčák and Surveillance Division departmental director Jan Dický, were recalled on February 28.
