PM welcomes Pope Benedict XVI

PRIME MINISTER Mikuláš Dzurinda welcomed the election of German Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger as the new Pope on April 18.

"Prime Minister Dzurinda is convinced that the new Holy Father will, through his faith, mission and message, give the same inspiration and spiritual ministry as the Holy Father John Paul II," Dzurinda's spokesman Martin Maruška told the TASR news agency April 18.
