Two dead in Košice shooting

A SHOOTING in Košice in the early hours of Sunday April 24 left two men dead, the TASR news agency reported.

The two men were shot while at the wheels of their cars, a VW Golf and a Mercedes-Benz, and both died later in hospital.

The 30-year-old Mercedes-Benz driver was a known member of the Košice underground and the presumed target of the shooting.

The VW Golf driver, 29, appears to have been an innocent victim, who just happened to be at the scene. One of his passengers, a 23-year-old woman, was also injured.

According to information provided by the Košice police, intensive efforts are underway to arrest the perpetrator(s). Police also reported that there was a weapon found in the Mercedes-Benz, plus various kinds of cartridges and weaponry.
