Reader feedback: Do the maths

RE: Army pilots fight for better pay, Volume 11, Number 17, May 2 - May 8, 2005

Let's look at some numbers: Top Cathay Pacific [Hong Kong based airline] pilots make between $375,000 (€288,000) and $650K (€500,000) per year.

Admittedly, this is top of the industry, but it is a goal that everyone in the field should shoot for. If you domicile yourself in Hong Kong, you pay 16 percent income tax.

So those are the numbers. What would you do? Remain a pilot in the Slovak air force or move on to "greener pastures"?
