Tóth named as new Culture Minister

SLOVAK President Ivan Gašparovič named František Tóth, former Deputy Education Minister and a member of the ruling New Citizen's Alliance Party, as the new Culture Minister on June 15.

After the Slovak cabinet dismissed Tóth, 42, from the Deputy Education Minister post, PM Mikuláš Dzurinda sent a proposal to Gašparovič concerning Tóth's appointment as Culture Minister, the TASR news agency wrote.

Tóth left the Education Ministry after serious conflicts with Education Minister Martin Fronc, a member of the Christian Democratic Movement.
