Large fires in Horehronie region still not under control

HUGE fires that started on June 29 in the Brezno district have not yet been extinguished or even localized, the SME daily reported.

According to preliminary reports, the fires have already burned down around 50 hectares. The flames have destroyed at least 18,000 cubic meters of soft wood, representing damages of at least Sk27 million (€702,000).
