EVENTS COUNTRYWIDE

THE GRAND Slam exhibition at Danubiana is a "tennis-art" project from two very different personalities - visual artist Juraj Králik and tennis legend Martina Navratilova. Under Králik's supervision, Navratilova "painted" the pictures with tennis balls and footprints during breaks between matches in Grand Slam tournaments in New York, Melbourne, Paris and London. The two worked within the concept of "zero" art, a combination of Minimal Art and Action Painting. The action element came not from brush and paint but a tennis racket and ball dipped in paint. The exhibition runs at the Danubiana Modern Art Museum at the Čunovo Water Works until September 4. It is open daily except Monday between 10:00 and 18:00. Tickets cost Sk60. Tel: 02/6252-8501.
